Baby Lorenzo was just 7 days new when he came to my studio for his newborn session! I got to know his parents at their maternity session and quickly determined they are possibly two of the coolest people I have met. They came to me with the idea of using the murals around downtown Jacksonville as the backdrop, while also included the whimsical & magical Treaty Oak. You can see this session here: Marissa’s maternity session.
Luckily, we didn’t have to wait too long for baby Lorenzo to arrive and I was SO excited to meet this little nugget. His nursery is airplane themed and so I asked my husband to help make this session perfect for Marissa and Daniel by building them a wooden airplane to use during his session. The airplane along with the sweetest aviator hat that mom brought was perfection. Though this shot was not an easy one to achieve, I’m so glad we were able to get it!
Marissa had also mentioned a belly cast her and Daniel made at home to document their pregnancy and asked to get some shots with it. This was such a great way to see just how Lorenzo could have possibly fit into his mom’s tiny belly. This image turned out beautifully and they are even planning to hang a canvas gallery wrap of it in their home!
Lorenzo was a breeze to photograph throughout his whole session. Mom was so great at keeping him content and sleepy by feeding him and giving lots of snuggles in between shots. The funniest part was his impressive ability to take out anything in his path when it comes to the “what goes in must come out.” As I have come to expect with newborn boys, we went through several diapers, blankets, wraps, and pants. If that makes for a happy baby, keep it coming and roll with it!
