The truth is, the soul is healed by being with children.
This session was a compilation of a few ideas I had that I wanted to try, but the timing was never right. After having a few rough days (you know, just life stuff), my good friend and creator Lizzy from Elevensies came over with her little one to drop off some things she created for photo sessions I had coming up. Knowing it would offer a brake from what was going on and put me in my happy place (behind the camera and in front of the sweetest little boy), she said- let’s do the Spaghetti Smash we keep talking about! I then even pushed it a little further and thought… well, if he’s going to be all messy and saucy, we might as well give him a bath! And so, we have my first spaghetti smash and bubble bath in the studio!
These photos are just everything! I am so excited to incorporate this idea into future sessions for my One Year Cake Smash babies. I’m dreaming of bubble baths, milk baths, rubber ducks, flowers, boats, tiny claw-foot tubs, and so much more!
Alaric is a big eater at home and LOVES his bubble baths. When it came to being in front of the camera for it though, that’s a different story. You can’t tell from these images, but at first Alaric was not too sure about the spaghetti being all over him and then the bath situation. It wasn’t too long after some encouragement and reassurance from mom that we got those big smiles! After that, it was all I could do to keep snapping away because he just kept getting more into it, splish-splashing and oooohhh the laughing! If I could bottle up those little laughs I would make a fortune off the cuteness.
Here are some of my favorite images I get to share with you. I can’t wait to create more like these!
