Peyton’s Mint and Grey One Year Cake Smash

February 7, 2018

Growing up in Jacksonville, FL means that you have long time family friends. This birthday girl’s mom used to babysit me back in the ol’ days! Our mom’s met at the baseball fields where our brothers played t-ball together. How wonderful it is that I got to watch her second little one grow up this past year and document her milestones.

Mint and Grey was the theme for this cake smash! This was a continuation of her 6 month milestone session, which you can see here: Peyton’s 6 month Milestont Session. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how much she’s grown in just a short time! Peyton thinks her big brother is hilarious and was walking all around my studio. She immediately began dancing and clapping when I sang, “The Wheels on the Bus.”  Oh the crazy noises and things we will do to get these little ones to crack a smile.

Cake Smash sessions are definitely one of my favorites to photograph, but it’s so dang bittersweet to know that it’s the end of their Watch Me Grow season with me. Of course there’s always Christmas, other holidays, and special occasions… but this photographer just wants to keep seeing these babies as they grow! A new thing I’ve been really excited about adding to my cake smash sessions is ending them with a bubble bath! (Well, a milk bath to keep it modest). With a little coaxing of some extra icing, this sweet girl splashed around a little bit.

Miss Peyton, it was so wonderful to watch you grow this past year. It went by way too fast and you need to slow down with the growing thing. You make your mommy and daddy laugh, and your big brother and sister love you more than you could know. I enjoyed every second of photographing your milestones!
