It was only just over a year ago when I photographed baby Sofia’s big brother for his newborn session. He was one of my very first newborns in the studio and my how things have changed! Sofia looks very much like her brother and they share the same sweetness. Check out his session here: Alejandro’s Newborn Session.
It was so wonderful to get to see how big Alejandro has gotten. Isn’t he handsome?! Big brother was on the move! Sometimes it can be hard for little ones to understand what’s going on. They are in a strange place, being asked to sit still and do funny things, all with a big flashing umbrella. It can be scary! So, when it seems impossible to get that image of siblings together, especially keeping in mind the newborn’s safety, Photoshop is a photographer’s best friend.
For Sofia’s newborn session, I was very excited to finally use my new swing prop! I had a vision my husband helped bring to life and I am so happy with how it turned out. Imagine different colored flowers, no flowers (for boys), even the bigger littles can use it! All the possibilities, happy heart! Mom requested pinks, vintage red/pink, and white. It’s no secret that flowers are my favorite to photograph with baby girls so when mom specifically asked for roses, I was all in!
This baby girl definitely preferred being wrapped and was not a fan of the idea of being nakey for any pictures. So, we accommodated our tiny model and did what we could while keeping her cozy and bundled up. Her tiny lips have to be my favorite in these photos. She is gorgeous and I am one lucky photographer to get to watch her grow in front of my camera over the next year!
