Newborn Baby Benjamin. Jacksonville, FL

July 3, 2018

I first photographed baby Benjamin when he was a tiny little bean in his mommy’s belly at their gender reveal party! Out at the gun range in north Jacksonville, Dad shot at a target which, to their surprise, exploded with blue smoke. They were convinced they were expecting a girl! Fast forward and after a gorgeous maternity session at Washington Oaks State Park, I finally got to meet baby Benjamin!

Mom requested some purples and greens to match the Hulk diaper cover they saved for baby boy. I always get so excited with pops of color! I haven’t had a request for purple with a boy yet and I love how it looks with the green!
I have to admit, it’s a lot quicker to photograph a newborn session with a sleepy baby, BUT you can’t beat those images with eyes wide open. There is curiosity and wonder in those eyes. Baby boy did not want to miss a thing!

Tiny little details are so important to document, not only because they are too cute for words! Newborns grow so fast and it’s amazing how those little toes could possible grow to point the way throughout a man’s life. We wonder where those little feet will go, what they will accomplish, oh the adventures. After fighting sleep, Benjamin finally couldn’t keep his eyes open any longer. Sleepy boy did so great during his newborn session.

Mom and Dad are so in love with Benjamin and couldn’t keep their eyes off of him. It’s easy to see why!

Having been born just before Independence Day, I just had to do a little setup to celebrate the holiday. Hulk diaper and all!
