Finally hitting the blog is my very own maternity session! It’s not very often that I get photos of Daniel, much less the two of us together. He is very anti-social media and is always afraid I will post photos of him. So anytime we celebrate a milestone together, I am so excited that he is happy to have photos taken of us! I always remind him… it’s for our children and their children.
I immediately knew I wanted Olivia Morgan Photography to capture this sweet time for us. She and I began our photography businesses at the same time and connected as great support and encouragement for each other. Even though our specialties went in different directions, hers staying with couples & weddings, mine moving towards newborns & families, we still stay connected. I love her style and knew she would know just how to pose me and Daniel. Even though I am a photographer, I am great BEHIND the camera and am awkward in front of it.
I often get asked about what to wear for maternity portraits. If you have the time, shopping online seems to be the best! The yellow skirt I am wearing is from Mama Bump Rentals and the mauve flowy dress is from one of my favorite online boutiques, Wren and Ivory. I also always recommend to go ahead and pamper yourself for your portraits! I had my make up done by Bobbi with Paulina Perez Makeup Artistry, and my hair done by Dry Bar.
I had one image goal in mind when it came to my maternity portraits and that was to be in a field with long grass. The local photographer’s go-to location with long grass had recently been mowed. Thanks to Olivia though, she recommended the Ribault Club which is typically a venue for weddings. It was gorgeous! I am so happy with our images and am excited to show Sunny once she becomes curious to look through family photos.
